The Surgery will close at 1pm on Thursday 19th October 2017 for Staff Training.

Welcome to Hillhead Family Practice

At the Hillhead Family practice in Belfast the doctors and nurses take pride in offering the highest standard of patient-centred healthcare. We run many clinics for chronic disease care and offer a wide variety of other medical services such as antenatal and postnatal care, minor surgery, childhood vaccinations and well-person check-ups.

Our Mission Statement is to provide a caring patient-centred service, combining health care and health promotion

 Face covering Patient Policy

It is a legal requirement that face coverings are mandatory in public buildings or where it is difficult to maintain social distancing; this includes all Healthcare settings.

The Reception Team have been asked to ensure that all patients attending the surgery wear a face covering at all times when inside the surgery building. This same obligation applies to staff that you may come into contact with when you move through the building.

The surgery has an obligation to all staff and patients to provide a safe environment to visit or to work in.

Only a small number of exemptions apply to this requirement, which is:

  • Children under the age of 13
  • Patients with a severe and chronic respiratory illness
  • Patients who have an enduring mental illness that means distress would be caused if asked to wear a face mask

As the Clinical Team are working in very close proximity to patients we will not provide face to face access to patients who refuse to wear a face covering; unless you meet one of the limited exemptions above.

If you are exempt, please advise a Receptionist / Dr at the time of booking your appointment as alternative arrangements will be made for your appointment.

If you have forgotten to bring your face covering with you, please let a Receptionist know and we will provide you with a disposal face mask.

Plastic face shields do not provide adequate protection and do not replace the need to wear a face covering.

Covid Vac

Vaccinations will not take place at the surgery. They will take place at one of the designated Trust Vaccination sites.

Please note, you DO NOT need your Health & Care (HCN) Number to book a vaccination appointment.
